Lions Club of Chitwan Chandra Surya: A New Journey
Shambhu Bhatta, a passionate community leader, is the Charter President of the Lions Club of Chitwan Chandra Surya, which was officially established on July 1st, 2024. His journey with Lions Club International began in 2021 as a founding member and secretary of the Lions Club of Bharatpur Mid-town. Over the years, Shambhu’s leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving others have shaped his significant role within the organization. In June 2024, he took on a new challenge by transferring to Lions Club of Chitwan Chandra Surya, where he now leads as Charter President.
Shambhu’s vision for the Lions Club of Chitwan Chandra Surya is centered around creating lasting change, focusing on the core global causes championed by Lions Club International. These include addressing childhood cancer, promoting diabetes awareness, advancing environmental conservation, and providing hunger relief. Additionally, the club is actively involved in vision health programs, disaster relief, and broader humanitarian services.
An advocate for the youth, Shambhu believes in empowering the younger generation through mentorship, education, and skill development. By fostering youth engagement, he aims to cultivate future leaders who will continue the Lions’ tradition of service and community-building. His leadership is inspiring action across these diverse causes, striving to make a meaningful impact both locally and globally.

Lions Club of Bharatpur Mid-town: A Legacy of Service
Shambhu Bhatta, a founding member and secretary of the Lions Club of Bharatpur Mid-town, has been at the forefront of numerous initiatives aimed at making a real difference in our community. From providing warm clothes and school supplies to over 200 students in need, to organizing tree planting and awareness campaigns, his dedication is undeniable. With ongoing programs like cleanliness drives, food distribution to orphanages, blood donation campaigns, and health camps, Shambhu ensures that help reaches those who need it most. But it doesn’t stop there. He’s also focused on empowering our youth through fun activities like the Dare to Dream peace poster contest, personal development workshops, and even distributing swings to bring smiles to children’s faces.
Other than being Team Leader, Shambhu Bhatta also participated and represented Nepal and the Lions Club of Bharatpur Mid-town at the 51st ISAME Forum 2023 in Dhaka, showcasing a dedication to global cooperation and community advocacy. His participation highlighted the club’s commitment to international engagement and humanitarian leadership, reaffirming its role in driving positive change worldwide.

Shambhu Bhatta, with his unwavering commitment to social welfare, served as the Chairperson of Adhmare Tol Bikash Sanstha in Gorkha, Nepal, for two pivotal years. His tenure coincided with the challenging onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which plunged Nepal into crisis. Yet, amidst adversity, Shambhu emerged as a beacon of hope, spearheading initiatives to support vulnerable families in his neighborhood. He led the distribution of essential safety supplies—masks, sanitizers, and soap—to those in need, ensuring their protection against the virus. Furthermore, he championed cleanliness drives and launched COVID awareness campaigns, fostering a culture of health and resilience within the community. Shambhu’s visionary leadership extended beyond immediate relief efforts; he collaborated with local authorities to advocate for sustainable development models, laying the foundation for a brighter future for generations to come.

Shambhu Bhatta’s compassion knows no bounds. Recognizing the plight of two cancer-stricken individuals from impoverished backgrounds, he embarked on a journey of empathy and action. His unwavering determination and collective efforts culminated in a successful endeavor, offering hope and healing to those in dire need.
